Veils of Forgetfulness: one or many: Mormonism and Hinduism closer than LDS and Buddhism

From my research, Buddhism's belief in transmigration/reincarnation is a passing of an energy, not a soul. Think of it like the light of a candle passing from one candle to another; energy but specific identity? No. Hinduism suggests that the same specific, individual, soul passes from one life and life form to another, until moksha (release/exaltation/nirvana) is obtained. This seems like Mormonism's belief in the specific progression of an individual, definable, known entity from: 1-Intelligence 2-Spirit Body 3-Spirit and Physical body - mortality 4-Spirit body separated from physical body - death 5-Spirit and physical body reunited, never to be separated - Resurrection 6-Eternal progression toward godhood, increasing the glory of our Heavenly Ancestors as we progress toward becoming more and more like them. THEREFORE, Does Hinduism or Buddhism include people passing through one veil or many? In LDS theology, we all pass through a veil of forgetfulness, which we pass through premortally and after Final Judgment where we are judged according to the deeds we did in mortality; in effect being asked and answering, did you do the best you could with the light, truth, and knowledge you received?
